Shifts in PA Hunting Seasons Pennsylvania hunters need not despair the close of firearms deer season in mid-December, according to the PA Game Commission (PGC). Upcoming hunting and trapping options include seasons for deer, snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse, squirrel, cottontail, pheasant, coyote, beaver, other fur bearers, crows, doves, and waterfowl.

Hunters Urged to Share the Harvest As hunters prepare for this year’s deer hunting season, the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is urging them to participate in the state’s venison donation program. Nearly 200,000 meals are annually delivered to food banks, churches, and social services feeding programs for meals to needy Pennsylvanian’s through the Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) program, according to the PGC.
